Accessible Media Converter

FFmpeg can do everything. What it never had was a front end you could actually use. Accessible Media Converter is that front end: every control labeled, every step announced, all of it on the keyboard. Audio, video, images — you say what comes out, the app handles the rest, and it tells you when a file is not what it claims to be.

• All keyboard, all spoken. The interface runs without a mouse and reads correctly in NVDA. Ctrl+V brings in the files you just copied in Explorer, and a whole folder goes in with one command.
• Audio, video, images. Coming out: MP3, AAC, M4B, WAV, FLAC, ALAC, OGG, and WMA for sound, MP4 and MKV for video, JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and BMP for images — with quality, compression, and resizing.
• The tracks stay yours. Pick the video, audio, and subtitle tracks outright, preview them before converting, and say which one to pull the audio from in a multi-track file. Re-encode to H.264 with CRF presets, or stream-copy when nothing should be touched.
• Split an album, join a film. A file that carries a cue sheet splits into as many tracks as it holds. The other way round, several files merge into one.
• Metadata gets fixed on the spot. Title, album, artist: a built-in editor rewrites the tags on the files you produce, with no second program involved.
• Your settings, kept. Encoding presets can be saved, imported, and exported. Apply one to the whole list, or only to the files you selected — one to MP3, another to FLAC, in the same run.
• One file, or two hundred. Batch conversion runs up to four jobs at once, settles name clashes — rename, overwrite, skip — and normalizes loudness to -16 LUFS on request.
• It checks its own work. Audio shorter than the picture is flagged the moment you add the file; a subtitle track an MP4 cannot carry is dropped and the change is reported to you. Every track in the result is verified separately, not just the file’s overall length.
• It keeps itself current. Built-in documentation, a log attached to your reports, support contact from inside the app, and updates from the stable GitHub releases. English and French.
