Copy an address and the file is yours. DownAccess pulls video and audio from hundreds of sites — YouTube, SoundCloud, Dailymotion, Twitch — in whatever format you ask for. yt-dlp does the fetching; a native wxPython interface makes it read properly in NVDA and JAWS, right down to progress milestones spoken aloud.

Features

• Copy a link and it is already waiting. Clipboard monitoring (Ctrl+Shift+V) spots the address on its own. For pages that hide their media, guided extraction (Ctrl+G) opens a built-in browser and goes to find it.
• Search, listen, then decide. Search (Ctrl+F) covers YouTube and SoundCloud without leaving the app, and a built-in player lets you hear the result before you download it.
• Follow a channel, not just a video. Subscriptions (Ctrl+B) watch a YouTube channel, a playlist, or a feed, and tell you what is new when you open the app.
• Your format, not a default one. Auto, MP4, MP3, M4A — or the exact format, picked by hand. Subtitles come along, and nothing forces you to take the whole file: Ctrl+E grabs a clip instead.
• A queue you drive from the keyboard. F5 starts, Space pauses and resumes, F2 retries, Delete cancels, Alt+Up and Alt+Down reorder. Progress is announced at 25, 50, and 75 per cent.
• The transcript, where there is one. It can be read, copied, and saved as a text file.
• Told beforehand, not after. Free disk space is checked before the download starts. If the file will not fit, you hear about it straight away — with the room it would have needed — instead of twenty minutes in.
• Nothing to install alongside. ffmpeg ships with the app, yt-dlp keeps itself current, history (Ctrl+H) remembers what you downloaded, and a full guide sits behind F1. English and French. DRM-protected content is not supported.
