DownAccess is a video and audio downloader for Windows, designed to be fully accessible with a screen reader. Built on yt-dlp and a native wxPython interface, it lets you grab videos and audio files from hundreds of sites.
Features
- Download video and audio from many sites using yt-dlp, with guided extraction through a built-in browser (WebView2) for tricky pages.
- Built-in search across YouTube and SoundCloud, without leaving the app.
- Pick your output format: Auto, MP4, MP3, M4A, or choose a specific format manually; subtitles can be downloaded too (languages, formats, and separate, embedded or burned-in modes).
- Playlist handling with checkbox-based entry selection, plus a download queue with progress tracking and reordering.
- Accessibility built for NVDA and JAWS, clipboard monitoring, download history, and automatic yt-dlp updates; ffmpeg ships with the application.
